Huisman Delivers 250mt Knuckle Boom Crane for New Subsea 7 Pipelay Vessel
Huisman will soon deliver a 250mt Knuckle Boom Crane to Subsea 7. This state-of-the-art crane is currently being load tested at the Huisman facility in Schiedam, the Netherlands. The crane will be installed onboard Subsea 7’s newly build Multi Purpose Offshore Support vessel Seven Pacific within the next months.

Plans for LNG-Terminal in Eemshaven Cancelled
The Eemshaven in Groningen in the Netherlands will not have an LNG-Terminal in the future. The study into its feasibility conducted by Essent, Vopak and Gasunie which was announced in 2007 has shown that there is insufficient basis to arrive at a positive investment decision.

Damen Starts Construction on New Shipyard in Vietnam
Damen has begun the construction of a new shipbuilding facility, Damen Vinashin Shipyard in Haiphon. To celebrate this event, there was a signing ceremony in August at head offices of the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) in Hanoi.

Wärtsilä and Tarbit Shipping to Convert Tanker to LNG
Wärtsilä and Tarbit Shipping of Sweden have signed a turnkey contract to convert a product tanker to LNG propulsion, and to supply the ship with a Wärtsilä LNGPac system for the safe and convenient storage of LNG onboard. This is the first order for the LNGPac system.
